Hardwood refinishing

Hardwood refinishing for new flooring life

Hardwood floor refinishing is one of the most critical services for this product, next to professional flooring installation. Hardwood refinishing can remove years of wear and abuse to create a brand-new surface. It's essential to understand the service, whether you need it, and what to expect before, during, and after, so here are some things to consider.

Getting started with an assessment

Sometimes it's easy to see that your floors need attention, with signs like dents, gouges, scratches, water stains, and discolored wood. However, these are just signs we will assess your floors for wood floor refinishing requirements. Before we dive into the refinishing project, we'll look deeply and carefully to ensure we address every need, down to subfloor repairs and replacement needs.

Moving forward with hardwood floor refinishing

Once our assessment is complete, we'll give you all the details, along with an estimate, and answer any questions you have about our findings. We'll tell you about anything you should do before your installation team arrives and what we'll need to start, like access to electrical outlets and standard HVAC settings. When it's time to begin hardwood floor refinishing, we'll start by sanding floors to remove all the wear and damage.

When the sanding stage is finished, we’ll proceed to reapply the stain color, which you can change to a different shade if you prefer. The finish, which you can change from the original, will also be added, giving you the perfect results for at least another decade. You should also know that adding a textured finish can help hide light scuffs, scrapes, and scratches, giving you better-looking floors longer.
